In Paris, the first domes were built on the churches of the Sorbonne  (by Lemercier between 1635-1642), of Val-de-Grâce (by François Mansart between 1624-1643), of the Collège des Quatre Nations Institut de France (by Le Vau between 1662-1668), of the Invalides (by Hardouin-Mansart between 1676-1706), and of the Pantheon (by Soufflot between 1764-1789).
