Cinemas: Paris has the largest number of cinemas per inhabitant in the world even if many of them have been demolished or converted. Among the most legendary are: the Rex built in 1932 and seating 3500, the Gaumont Palace on the site of the Montmartre Hyppodrome by H. Belloc in 1931 (since demolished) which was the largest movie theatre in the world (6000 seats?), the studio Pathé in Montmartre, the Pagode  which really is an oriental pagoda , the Louxor in 1921  (under restoration).
